What would you do for Canberra if you were given $20,000?
Federal Member for Canberra is inviting local not-for-profit organisations to apply for federal funding as part of the Stronger Communities Program.
Every electorate in the country has $150,000 to allocate each year, for the next two years.
Local incorporated not-for-profit organisations can apply to receive a grant of between $5,000 and $20,000 to fund small capital projects that improve community participation and contribute to the vibrancy and viability of Canberra.
However, organisations must match the funding in-cash or in-kind on at least a dollar-for-dollar basis.
Projects might include the construction of a skate park, the fit-out of a Men’s Shed, new bike paths or upgrades to local sporting or community facilities.
To apply you must be a community based not-for-profit organisation in your own right that is not owned by a state or territory government. You must also be a legal entity with a current Australian Business Number.
