Standing up for Canberra

This Week in Parliament

The Abbott Government’s horror Budget is still dominating Parliamentary debate.

This week the Leader of the Opposition Bill Shorten moved a censure motion against Prime Minister Abbott over his repeated refusal to acknowledge that his Budget cuts funding to schools, hospitals and pensioners. I’ve continued to use speaking opportunities to talk about Canberrans’ responses to the Budget, and paid tribute to a wonderful Canberran, the late Alison Ryan.

I also raised concerns about Senator Seselja’s plans for a greenfield development in West Tuggeranong. I called on him to join me in campaigning for more feasible and immediate solutions for Tuggeranong, based on urban design best practice principles of infill and density.

You can find a full list of my parliamentary speeches from the last week below.
