It’s over a week since the deeply concerning revelations in the Four Corners report on PFAS contamination and what’s the Turnbull Government done?
We haven’t heard boo from the Minister for Defence.
And all we’ve heard from the Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister responsible for the PFAS Task Force are excuses.
The Turnbull Government announced it was working on a 'solution' in May.
Six months on, what is it and where is it?
Will the solution address the issues facing all 18 Defence sites?
Will the solution follow Labor’s policy and allow blood tests for all communities affected by PFAS contamination around Defence sites?
And will the solution adopt a nationally consistent approach to the management of PFAS contamination, as recommended by Labor?
Communities living near the 18 Defence sites deserve answers.
Labor has been standing shoulder to shoulder with PFAS affected communities.
Like them, we’re still waiting on the Turnbull Government to do something.
The lack of a response from the Turnbull Government shows how of touch it is with the rest of Australia.
If the Turnbull Government is serious about the concerns of residents living near PFAS contaminated sites, it will release its solution now.
