Federal Member for Canberra Gai Brodtmann is proud to support the official opening of the Snowy Hydro SouthCare Training and Administration Facility in Hume tonight.
The facility will see the organisation’s staff collocated at the helicopter base for the first time in the services 15 year history.
It will allow Snowy Hydro Southcare to deliver faster, more effective services to the ACT and region.
“This facility was partly funded by a $500,000 grant, provided by the Regional Development Australia Fund, under the previous Labor Government,” Ms Brodtmann said.
Labor believes funding for regional Australia is vital to help create new facilities, boost local economies and create jobs.
“The Abbott Government has completely ignored the latest round of funding, and more than $150 million in grants made under Round 6 will not be honoured.
“I would like to see more fantastic projects like this go ahead in Canberra.”
