I am currently looking for a hardworking and dedicated person to join my team as an Electorate Officer based in my Tuggeranong office.

This position requires an organised, enthusiastic person who has a reliable work ethic, and good time management skills.
The duties of the position include: responding to constituent enquiries; identifying and responding to issues within the Canberra community; liaising with Territory and Commonwealth Government; establishing and maintaining relationships with key community organisations; preparing and coordinating correspondence and briefs; and playing a key role in community campaigning, including through organising meetings and events.
Applicants should possess the following skills and experience:
An understanding of the political environment, government and parliamentary processes
Sound knowledge of the Canberra electorate
Excellent oral and written communication skills (writing samples are welcome)
Experience in database management and/or an understanding of best-practice data management
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as a cooperative approach and desire to work in a small team environment
Strong interpersonal and customer relations skills
Experience or interest in community campaigning is desirable but not essential
Previous experience in an electorate office is desirable but not essential
The position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2012-2015.
The position will have a commencing salary range between $62,895 to $73,431, plus superannuation.
Part-time/job share arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.
The position will require occasional after hours and weekend work, and an additional allowance of $7,596 will be paid in recognition of, and as compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work.
A probationary period of three months will apply.
