Standing up for Canberra

CSIRO Community Forum

Gai Brodtmann, Katy Gallagher and Andrew Leigh invite you to join them for a community forum to discuss Malcolm Turnbull’s plans to cut hundreds of jobs from the Australian science icon CSIRO; including world-leading climate research.

Hear CSIRO Fellow Professor John Finnigan FAA speak about the importance of the research Malcolm Turnbull wants to cut and Shadow Minister for Research and Innovation, Senator Kim Carr speak about Labor’s campaign against these cuts and how you can get involved in fighting for Australian science and local jobs.

Malcolm Turnbull’s cuts are nothing less than a catastrophe for science in Australia, for international climate change research and for the future prospects of environmental scientists. These cuts fly in the face of the government’s talk of innovation, showing that Malcolm Turnbull is just that - talk.
