Call for submissions into Disability Pension Review Inquiry

The Turnbull Government’s handling of its review of 90,000 Disability Support Pension recipients is the latest proof this Government has no plan for people living with disabilities.

Some DSP recipients have been challenged to collect decades worth of evidence in two weeks.

DSP recipients with permanent disability are being asked to produce medical evidence proving they still have a disability.

The co-chief executive of national peak body People With Disability Australia has labelled the Turnbull Government’s handling of the review scary, intimidating and stigmatising.

Yet the Turnbull Government simply denies there is a problem.

I am encouraging Canberrans to make a submission to the Joint Committee of Public Accounts and Audit’s Parliamentary Inquiry into qualifying for the Disability Support Pension by November 7.
