Tuggeranong residents nominate Footsteps to Follow

Nominations are now open for residents to nominate a living or deceased person or a corporate entity that has made a positive and significant contribution to the development of the Tuggeranong community.

Convenor of Carers of Tuggeranong Town Park, the owners of the Footsteps to Follow community project, Michael Lindfield said, “it is wonderful to have a large shopping centre like the Tuggeranong Hyperdome and many other suburban based shopping centres willing to be associated with our community owned, managed, financed and driven civic project. It is, in effect, an opportunity to catalogue our local history each year.”  A Nomination Form is available here
Successful nominees will be unveiled on Canberra Day Monday 9 March 2015 and recognised by having a bronze plaque mounted on the 'Centenary of Canberra Tuggeranong Footsteps to Follow Wall' i.e. the main entrance to Tuggeranong Town Park and a citation recognising their achievements and contribution.
Already there are 25 Foundation Members recognised and, Carers of Tuggeranong Town Park, aim to have 199 inductees by the end of 2112 (or another 174 in the next 99 years) with the 200th unveiled in March 2113 on Canberra Day - Canberra’s Bicentenary.
“Good luck and we hope to see many nominations from the community before the closing date of Friday 20 February 2015”, Mr Lindfield said.
