Labor welcomes ADF mental health services review

Labor welcomes the Turnbull Government’s announcement today that the National Mental Health Commission will undertake a review of suicide and self-harm prevention services for our defence personnel.

The mental health and wellbeing of our returned servicemen and women must always be a priority, and this review is one way we can ensure that current and former Australian Defence Force (ADF) members, and their families, are receiving the best support available now and into the future.

Labor will always take a constructive bipartisan approach to improving the healthcare and support available to those returned servicemen and women who need it.

There is nothing more important than making sure that our veterans, people who've put their life on the line for our country, get the support they need when they return and for as long as they need it.
