In the wake of the horrific vandalism at the Canberra Islamic Centre over the weekend, Canberrans are coming together to show that we have zero tolerance for these reprehensible acts of a small minority.
The centre is holding a clean-up on site tomorrow afternoon, and I am calling on Canberrans to show up and lend a hand.
Canberrans who can’t attend the clean-up can show their support for the Canberra Islamic Centre by making a donation or emailing a message of support.
The vast majority of Canberrans are decent and tolerant – this is our chance to send a message to the perpetrators that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated.
When: Wednesday 16 April, 2pm
Where: Canberra Islamic Centre, 221 Clive Steele Ave, Monash, ACT 2904
Bring: Gloves, protective foot wear, brooms and mops
